On January 19, the Spring Festival Gala of China National Academy of Painting (CNAP) was held at Yongxing Garden Hotel in Beijing, attended by 300 people including Wang Ji, Cai Xiuwen, Li Dongwen, Yu Peng, Liu Zhongjun, An Yuanyuan, some of the leaders from the agencies directly under the Ministry of Culture, Liu Dawei, Li Ronghai, Dai Zhiqi, Hu Baoli, Liao Jingwen, Li Huiwen, Zou Peizhu, Ye Mingming, Yang Lizhou, Wang Yingchun, Yu Zhixue, Zhao Zhitian, Li Xiaoke, Wu Qinglin, Cheng Dali, Jiang Baolin, Cui Ruzhuo, Ma Zhensheng, Miao Chong’an, Li Yan, Xu Jun, Xu Qingping, Li Naizhou, Liu Longting, Zhang Xiaoling, Li Yi, Zhao Junsheng, Guo Shifu, Wang Hongxun, Li Shusheng and Ji Qingyuan. The gala was presided over by Xie Yongquan.
In the afternoon of January 8, Liu Zhongjun and An Yuanyuan visited CNAP and held a conference.
On December 25, “CNAP High-End Art Exhibition in Thailand,” co-sponsored by CNAP, the Chinese Embassy in Thailand, the Confederation of Thai and Chinese Artists and the Thai Young Chinese Chamber of Commerce, was held in Bangkok, Thailand. The exhibition showcased the works by Long Rui and Lu Yushun.
On January 15, Huang Yaojin and others went to Diaoyutai to appreciate the painting entitled Harmony of Heaven and Earth created by Long Rui for the newly-inaugurated building of the United Front Work Department of CPC Central Committee.
In the morning of March 7, the trade union of CNAP held a March 8 Women's Day Symposium.
During the Chinese New Year, Long Rui, Xie Yongquan and Lu Yushun respectively visited some of the senior comrades including Zhang Ding, Cui Zifan, Qin Lingyun, Ouyang Zhongshi, Liu Boshu, Liao Jingwen, Li Huiwen, Zou Peizhu, Zheng Wenhui and Guo Moxi.
In the morning of February 8, the inauguration of Taizhou Art Creation Base was held at the western foot of Baiyun Mountain in Taizhou, Zhejiang Province. The inauguration was attended by Yin Fu, Xie Yongquan, Lu Yushun, Zhang Jiangzhou, Zhao Wei, Zhang Zikang, Wang Wenjuan, Wang Jinsheng, Jin Changzheng, Zhao Yuejin and others.
In the evening of March 4, Long Rui was interviewed by a journalist from China Culture Daily at the building where the delegates from the literary and art communities stayed during the Fifth Session of the Tenth CPPCC.
On March 25, the “Celebration Conference of 100th Anniversary of Li Keran's Birthday,” jointly organized by the China Artists Association (CAA), the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA), the National Art Museum of China, the Li Keran Art Foundation and CNAP, was held in the Great Hall of the People, attended by about 300 people, including experts and scholars such as Feng Yuan, Jin Shangyi, Long Rui, Pan Gongkai, Fan Di’an, Wang Mingming, An Yuanyuan, Zou Peizhu, Xie Yongquan, Lu Yushun, Zhang Jiangzhou, Zhao Wei, Mei Mosheng, Wu Yina, Li Jian, Zhang Zikang, Liu Boshu, Wang Yingchun, Xie Zhigao, Li Yancheng, Zhao Lizhong, Wang Qi, Wen Huaisha, Hou Yimin, Liao Jingwen and Zheng Wenhui, and the representatives from the hometown of Li Keran. The conference was presided over by Wang Luxiang.
In the afternoon of March 28, Wise Men—Portrait Paintings of Chinese and Foreign Celebrities by Li Yansheng made its debut in the National Art Museum of China. The ceremony was attended by Pan Gongkai, Jiang Kun, Fan Di’an, Wang Wenzhang, Xu Qingping, Chen Lvsheng and Lu Yushun.
On March 20, Lu Yushun attended a seminar entitled "Returning and Transcending—Fan Zeng's Calligraphy works and Paintings" sponsored by the Graduate School of Chinese National Academy of Arts (CNAA) and the Palace Museum.
The interior decoration of the Painting Storehouse and the Exhibition Hall of CNAP began. The CNAP Art Museum was expected to be completed and put into use by the end of this month.
According to the circular “Wen Ren Fa (2007) No. 11” dated March 6, Fan Yang, Yu Wenjiang and Zhang Jiangzhou were awarded the title of "Outstanding Experts.”
On April 20, the CNAP held a symposium on the theme of "CNAP and Development of Chinese Calligraphy and Painting" at the Ministry of Culture, attended by more than 30 experts, scholars, and journalists from the cultural community, including Lv Zhangshen, Gao Shuxun, Lin Yongjun, An Yuanyuan, Shen Peng, Ouyang Zhongshi, Cheng Dali, Lin Xiu, Sun Ke, Gu Zhengkun, Luo Yang, Wang Jiaxin, Chen Hongwu, Zhang Xuguang, Liu Zhengcheng, Ye Peigui, Li Xiang, Li Yi, Long Rui, Xie Yongquan and Lu Yushun.
On April 25, Xie Yongquan led a team of over 20 leaders and staff members to Shangludian Village of Miaofengshan Township in Mentougou District, Beijing on a charity mission of donating for the underprivileged mothers involved in the "Happiness Program.”
On April 12, the Awards Ceremony of "Wu Zuoren Art Award” and "Xiao Shufang Art Award” 2006 of Wu Zuoren International Foundation of Fine Arts entitled “Ten-Leaf Studio (1953-1957)—An Individual Case of Modern Chinese Art” was unveiled at CAFA, attended by Jin Shangyi, Fan Di'an, Pan Gongkai, Lu Yushun, Wang Mingming, An Yuanyuan and others, presided over by Yu Ding and Wu Ning.
On April 26, Zou Peizhu's sculpture on "science and art" based on the paintings of Li Keran was inaugurated by Zou Peizhu at the Innovation Plaza of TusPark. Lu Yushun attended the inauguration.
The Office of National Art Creation Program of Major Historic Themes held an art creation meeting in Beijing and announced a total of 115 shortlisted artists/teams, including 40 Chinese painting themes, 55 oil painting themes and 20 sculpture themes.
On May 11, the signing ceremony for the creation of commissioned works for the National Art Creation Program of Major Historic Themes was held at Prime Hotel, Beijing, attended by Li Congjun, Jin Shangyi, Liu Zhongjun, Long Rui, Li Yansheng, Xie Zhigao, Wang Yingchun, Zhang Jiangzhou, Yu Wenjiang, Liang Zhanyan, Ji Lianbin and other artists across the country.

On April 26, the Exhibition of Liu Guosong's Modern Ink Paintings entitled “Impression of Universe—Liu Guosong's Paintings” opened at the Wuying Hall of the Palace Museum in Beijing. Long Rui attended the opening ceremony.
On April 26, “Song of Everlasting Love—Huang Miaozi and Yu Feng Art Exhibition” was held at the National Art Museum of China. Long Rui attended the opening ceremony.
On April 29, "One World—Chinese Paintings of the UN Family by Chinese Artists,” co-sponsored by the Information Office of the State Council, the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and CAA, opened at the National Art Museum of China. Long Rui, Lu Yushun, Li Yansheng, Xie Zhigao, Wang Yingchun, Zhang Jiangzhou, Yu Wenjiang, Liang Zhanyan, Ji Lianbin, Zhao Wei and Fan Yang attended the exhibition. Lu Yushun attended the opening ceremony.
On May 29, the Art Museum of CNAP was reopened after renovation. “Golden Years—Literature Exhibition on Modern and Contemporary Chinese Artists: Li Keran, Cai Ruohong, Ye Qianyu and Huang Zhou” opened for public. The Art Museum of CNAP was re-inaugurated by Yu Ping and Long Rui. The ceremony was attended by more than 300 people including Qin Zhigang, Liu Dawei, Lü Zhangshen, Du Haijiang, Wang Wenzhang, Zou Peizhu, Yang Lizhou, Liu Zhongjun, Xie Yongquan, Bu Jian, Lü Changhe, Li Baolin, Tian Liming, Tang Yongli, Rao Quan, An Yuanyuan, Zhou Yu, and the relatives of Li Keran, Cai Ruohong, Ye Qianyu and Huang Zhou. The opening ceremony was presided over by Lu Yushun.
On May 18, the Creative Research Department convened all of its painters to a seminar on the 2006 Exhibition of CNAP Art Works, attended by Long Rui and Lu Yushun, and presided over by Zhao Wei.
CNAP won the title of “Role Model Organization 2006” announced and circulated by the National Government Offices Administration. CNAP had won this honor for four consecutive years.
Through the annual performance assessment and the deliberation at the CNAP President's Office Meeting, the following individuals and units were selected as outstanding performers in 2006: Five Excellent Cadres were Zhao Wei, Zeng Laide, Xia Xiaolin, Chen Gang and Fan Yang;19 Outstanding Individuals were Wang Yongliang, Shen Shaojun, Bao Mengfei, Zuo Shuzhen, Pu Wenguang, Ji Lianbin, Liu Defeng, Xiao Qingru, Li Ming, Li Jian, Li Xiaojun, Li Huiping, Qiu Lei, Chen Peng, Hu Guilin, Hu Yingkang, Hu Zhiqiang, Liang Zhanyan and Huang Yuyin; three Outstanding Units were the Teaching and Training Center, the Creative Research Department and the General Affairs Office.
From May 23 to June 6, “Exhibition of Paintings by Li Yansheng,” hosted by the CNAP, the Publicity Department of Shanxi Provincial Party Committee, the Shanxi Federation of Literary and Artistic Circles, the Publicity Department of Taiyuan Municipal Party Committee, co-sponsored by the Shanxi Artists Association, the Shanxi Painting Academy, the Taiyuan Bureau of Culture, Broadcasting and Television, organized by the Longwan Art Museum, was held at the Longwan Art Museum in Taiyuan. Xue Jun, Liang Bin, Gao Jianmin, Wang Laying, Li Caiwang, Guo Zhenzhong, Fan Shikang, Du Fuxin and Cheng Lasheng visited the exhibition.
On June 13, “Chinese Painting Masterpieces in 20th Century (IV): New Age - First Exhibition of Works by Leaders of CNAP(Former CPRI)” and “Chinese Painting Masterpieces in 20th Century (V): Road of On-the-Spot Sketching—Exhibition of Works by Li Keran, Ye Qianyu, Huang Zhou, Li Kuchan and Chen Zizhuang,” planned and hosted by the CNAP, was simultaneously held at the Art Museum of CNAP. Yuan Yunfu, Xia Shuoqi, Li Yan, Cheng Dali, Guo Shifu, Li Weikun, Zhang Jiangzhou, Huo Chunyang, Lu Xin and Mao Jianbo attended the opening ceremony which was presided over by Xie Yongquan.
On June 7, the painting entitled Magnificent Scenery of Huangshan Mountain created by Long Rui, Lu Yushun, Zhao Wei and Fan Yang was sent to Hong Kong as the CPPCC’s gift for the 10th anniversary of the handover of Hong Kong.
In the evening of June 8, the CNAP painters participated in a welcoming ceremony at the site of the fountain area of the Old Summer Palace for the first batch of returned cultural relics. They donated a Chinese painting entitled Sunset at Old Summer Palace by Long Rui, Xie Yongquan, Lu Yushun, Shu Jianxin, Zhao Wei, Fan Yang and Kong Zi. Zhao Wei and Kong Zi received the commemorative trophy for the donation on behalf of all the painters.
On June 13-19, “Ye Qianyu Centennial Art Exhibition,” sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and organized by CNAP, the National Art Museum of China, CAFA and CAA, was held at the National Art Museum of China, displaying more than 150 artworks. Long Rui attended the opening ceremony.
On May 20, Long Rui and Hu Yingkang led 15 students from the elite class for landscape painting on a one-week sketching trip in Guilin.
On June 27, the Creative Research Department invited the students from Peking University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University, Capital Normal University, CAFA and other universities in Beijing into the art museums where they could appreciate Chinese paintings and calligraphy works as part of the traditional Chinese culture. Long Rui, Xie Yongquan, Li Yansheng, Zhang Jiangzhou, Zhao Wei, Fan Yang, Xing Shaochen, Zeng Laide, Mei Mosheng, Liang Zhanyan, Ji Lianbin and others attended the meeting chaired by Lu Yushun.
On June 26-30, “CNAP Annual Exhibition 2006” was held at the Art Museum of CNAP. Leaders including Zhou Heping, Feng Yuan, Yang Zhijin, Zhao Ximing, Li Xiong, Yin Fu, Li Yaowen and Long Rui attended the opening ceremony and cut the ribbon. Lu Yushun presided over the opening ceremony.
On June 26, Li Xiong and Du Haijiang accompanied Zhou Heping to the renovation and extension project of the exhibition hall of the CNAP. Long Rui, Xie Yongquan and Lu Yushun reported the progress of the project.
On June 25-27, the National Art Museum Work Conference 2007 sponsored by the Ministry of Culture was held in Shenzhen. Chen Fengxin attended the conference on behalf of the Art Museum of CNAP.
On June 29, the Exhibition of Artists from Mainland China and Hong Kong, sponsored by the Publicity Department of the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee, SCPG, Hong Kong Artists Association, China Culture Daily, and organized by Sichuan Fine Arts Publishing House, was held in Chengdu. The exhibition was attended by Li Chongxi, Jin Shangyi, Wen Lou, Long Rui, Sun Ruofeng, Wu Changjiang, Deng Lin and dozens of other artists, with a total of 150 artworks on display.
In the afternoon of July 9, the Commencement & Exhibition of Graduation Works by the 184 students of the CNAP elite classes and the advanced learning classes of 2006 was held at the Art Museum of CNAP. Nearly 300 people, including lecturers and the students such as Chen Xiaoguang, Gao Shuxun, An Yuanyuan, Long Rui, Zhou Shaohua, Li Yansheng, Cheng Dali and Du Dakai, attended the opening ceremony.
On July 13, the Art Development Committee of the CNAP held its first work meeting. The meeting was presided over by Li Yansheng. Long Rui conferred a letter of appointment to each member of the committee.
On June 30, the meeting on the establishment of the Beijing Chinese Painting Artists Association and its first congress was held at the Logistic Cadres Training Base for Government Offices. Li Baolin was elected as its chairman.
On July 26, Li Meng visited CNAP with Yu Ping.
July 2-6, “Exhibition of Freehand Landscape Paintings by Zheng Tianxin” was held at the Art Museum of CNAP.
On July 16-20, “Exhibition of Paintings by Swiss Artist Sonja Sekula” was held at the Art Museum of CNAP.
On July 28-August 2, “Exhibition of New Landscape Paintings by Long Rui 2007,” sponsored by the CNAP and the Weihai Municipal People's Government, was unveiled in the Yiyunzhai Art Museum in Weihai, exhibiting a total of 37 paintings.
On August 25-29, “Humanistic Olympics and Harmonious Agency—Exhibition of Photos by Employees of Ministry of Culture,” co-sponsored by the trade unions of the agencies under the Ministry of Culture and the CNAP, was held at the Art Museum of CNAP. Sun Jiazheng, Chang Keren, Wu Hansheng, Wan Mingdong, Wang Zhengsheng and others visited the photo exhibition. Chen Xiaoguang, Feng Yuan, Su Shishu, Long Rui, Xie Yongquan and Lu Yushun wrote inscriptions for the exhibition.
On September 9, "Rhythm of Heaven—Exhibition of On-the-Spot Sketches of Mount Qingcheng by Famous Contemporary Chinese Painters,” co-sponsored by CNAP and the Chongzhou Municipal People's Government of Sichuan Province, was launched at the Art Museum of CNAP. Yin Fu, Xie Yongquan and Lu Yushun attended the opening ceremony and the ribbon cutting.
On September 4-12, “Walking into Kangba - Exhibition of On-the Spot Sketches by Famous Contemporary Chinese Painters”, co-sponsored by the CNAP and the Chongzhou Municipal People's Government of Sichuan Province, was held in Sichuan. More than 20 people, including Du Zilin, Li Yansheng, Liu Guohui, Xie Zhigao, Wang Yingchun, Peng Xiancheng and Yu Wenjiang attended the event.
On August 14-18, "Mei Mosheng Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition” was held at the exhibition hall of the Chinese Cultural Center in Seoul.
Liang Zhanyan, Chen Fengxin, Wang Yongliang and Zhang Tongyu won the Excellence Award (the highest award) of the third National Chinese Painting Exhibition.
In the morning of September 20, the opening ceremony of the elite classes, the subject classes and the advanced learning classes of 2007 was held at Yongxing Garden Hotel in Beijing. Leaders from the Ministry of Culture, CAA, CNAP, the Graduate School of Chinese National Academy of Arts and other related organizations, and about 400 lecturers and students including Long Rui, Liu Dawei, Cheng Dali, Jiang Baolin, Xie Yongquan, Lu Yushun, Niu Genfu, Li Yansheng and Zhang Xiaoling attended the event.
On September 19, the Exhibition of first Landscape Elite Class of Long Rui Studio kicked off at the art museum. You Hongbing, Lü Zhangshen, Long Rui, Xie Yongquan, Lu Yushun, and Cheng Dali attended the opening ceremony and cut the ribbon. Zeng Laide presided over the opening ceremony.
In the morning of September 1, Zeng Laide Calligraphy Exhibition was held at the Tampere Museum in Finland.
On July 30, "National Art Exhibition in Honor of 80th Anniversary of Founding of People's Liberation Army” was held. The event was co-sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, CAA and the General Political Department of People's Liberation Army. The artworks by Zhao Wei, Kong Zi and Wang Yongliang were selected to be displayed, and Kong Zi won the gold medal.
On October 10, the painters of the Suzhou Art Academy visited CNAP. Lu Yushun and Zhao Wei accompanied them during the visit and discussion.
On September 12-26, Zhao Wei and Yu Wenjiang went to Russia for the "Festival of China—Art Journey along Volga River” organized by the Ministry of Culture and the Culture and Film Office of Russian Federation.
On October 8-12, “Impression & Harmony—Academic Invitational Exhibition of Contemporary Chinese and Oil Paintings,” sponsored by the CNAP, was held at the CNAP Art Museum, showcasing more than 100 works by 32 artists, including Long Rui, Lu Yushun, Wu Changjiang, Sun Jingbo, Tian Liming and Yang Feiyun.
The Publicity Department and the Personnel Department of the CPC Central Committee and the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles selected and commended the second National Outstanding Young and Middle-Aged Literary and Art Workers. Lu Yushun was selected as one of the second National Outstanding Young and Middle-Aged Literary and Art Workers.
On October 17, the trade union of the CNAP organized some staff members to participate in the training in Changsha, Hunan.
In the morning of November 8, “Chinese Painting Masterpieces in 20th Century (VI): Living in History—Exhibition of Works by Lin Fengmian, Guan Liang and Lai Shaoqi,” co-sponsored by CNAP, the Lai Shaoqi Gallery in Hefei, the Guangzhou Museum of Art, was held at the Art Museum of CNAP, and a total of more than 120 works were exhibited.
In the afternoon of November 4, “Li Keran of a Century—Art Exhibition in Honor of Centenary Anniversary of Li Keran's Birthday,” co-sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, the People's Government of Jiangsu Province, CNAP and the Li Keran Art Foundation, was held at the National Art Museum of China. Li Ruihuan, Zhang Huaixi, Wang Qingxi, Huang Yuejin, Qin Zhigang, Jin Shangyi, Wang Mingming, Pan Gongkai, Wu Changjiang, Long Rui and Zou Peizhu attended the opening ceremony hosted by Fan Di’an.
On November 2, CNAP donated winter cotton quilts to people in need, especially those affected by the disasters, in response to the call by the Party Committee of the Ministry of Culture.
On November 23, the Creative Research Department convened a workshop for all the painters to study the documents from the 17th CPC National Congress.
On December 25, the Creative Research Department held a sketching demonstration and conference. Long Rui, Lu Yushun and all its painters and theorists attended the meeting. Zhao Wei chaired the meeting.
Book series Contemporary Chinese Paintings was completed and officially published in 2007.
On December 9, “Exhibition of Calligraphy Works on Mount Tai by Calligraphy Elite Class of Shen Peng Studio & First Mount Tai Calligraphy Forum,” sponsored by the CNAP, was held in the newly-built Taishan Art Museum. Shen Peng, Xie Yongquan, Zeng Laide and the students from the calligraphy elite class attended the opening ceremony.
On November 10, the Art Museum of CNAP ushered in some young visitors. The museum held a lecture for them at the exhibition hall.
On December 7, Lu Yushun inaugurated the teaching building of the Yushun Primary School in Laohugang Township of Heilongjiang Province. Liu Ce, Li Naibo, Jia Ximin, Li Hui and Lu Yu’an attended the inauguration.
